I have been trying to learn Ruby on Rails in my spare time with books and tutorials, but could use someone that can explain certain concepts to me and help with practical application. I am building a site and would like someone that can go through it with me occasionally, answer questions, and help me figure things out that aren’t working. In person or Webex are both fine. I’m not sure what the going rate for a tutor is, but I’m happy to discuss. Thanks
Hey Josh,We're mentors with bloc.io and provide consulting / coaching services as part of our core business with clients.Feel free to reach out:
Thanks Toolbulkeh,I'll reach out and see if it's a fit.
I've been hosting a weekly hack night with my brother and a friend from church. We generally meet at Common Grounds in Apex after work on Tuesday, though sometimes we cancel for a meetup. You (and anyone) are welcome to join us. You might also check out the Triangle Hacker Hours meeting.
(By the way we won't be there July 21 due to a prior commitment, but we'll be back the next week.)
Thanks RG... i've added it to my calendar for 7/28.
Thomas,Is your hack night still going on? If you do meet this Tuesday, July 28th about what time does it start (I am not sure what time to translate for "after work").
I'll be there around 17:30-ish. I ride with my brother, and he has to leave around 20:00, so that's when I'll leave too. I think Common Grounds is open until 21:00.
Everybody is welcome, so please join us if you can.
Our next West End Ruby meetup will be August 18th. It's always the 3rd Tuesday of the month. For next month, it won't be solely a Hack Night like it usually is. We're individually working on the Sokoban RubyQuiz challenge and we'll share our work at the meetup. There's a recent, separate thread about it.
Great!! ActionCable anyone?
