Mike Beams - Software Development Manager
N2 Publishing is seeking a skilled Ruby/Rails developer to join our technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for working as a part of our software development team to support existing web applications as well as participate in the development of additional applications and functionality. The individual must have strong technical skills, be self-motivated and capable of working both independently as well as part of team. The job can be a remote employee, but you would be "required" to travel to our HQ, 5 miles from the beach, in Wilmington, NC periodically.
-- 2+ years experience – specifically with enterprise-level Ruby / Rails
-- Experience with schema design and query optimization for relational databases (MySQL)
-- Strong knowledge OOP, MVC
-- Experience building and maintaining REST APIs
-- Experience working with version control systems; preferably Git
-- Familiarity with Agile development practices
-- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
